  25. Reflection is what a mirror does--light bounces off the surface.
  26.  
  27. Refraction is what a lens does, or the distortion you see when you look
  28. at a straw in a glass of water--light passes through the surface (the
  29. glass or the water), but it bends a little.

  31. Turning on the "trace" options tells LW to model these effects using
  32. raytracing.  They are options because they're time-consuming and not
  33. always needed.
